West Newton

West Newton is the quieter western half of Surrey's Newton district, out toward the Delta border along 72 Avenue and 128 Street. About 51,000 people live here, the median age is mid-thirties, and three in five own. Houses lead what comes up for sale, then townhouses, then apartments, and most of it is three bedrooms or more.

Groceries come from the Chalo FreshCo that anchors the Newton Town Centre shopping centre, which has a gas bar and a Scotia Bank alongside it. The wider Newton district is culturally diverse, and South Asian food is what it's known for.

Just north of it, on 76 Avenue, the Serpentine off-leash dog park has a walking path through the green space.

Five public elementaries sit inside the neighbourhood: Beaver Creek on 123a Street, Henry Bose on 134 Street, Martha Jane Norris on 66a Avenue, Cougar Creek on 70a Avenue and W E Kinvig on 70b Avenue.
